Outings

We try to organise at least one day trip each year and several outings a year usually to local places of interest
We have 2 regular Coffee and Chat Events each month.
On the last Saturday of the month we meet at Thatcham Garden Centre at 10.30am and after than there is plenty of opportunity to shop in the Garden Centre itself. The date for this is in the Calendar on the Home page
On the Wednesday immediately before our Monthly Meeting we meet at the Hidden Gem Café at Alice Bye Court. This is usually the 2nd Wednesday of the month but always check the Calendar on the Home page!
This is the map to get to the Hidden Gem Café. The red route is for driving and the blue route is the footpath if you are walking. The entrance to the café is at the 'back' of the building with no access from the A4. Click on the map to enlarge

Chatty Wednesday
7th May

The sun came out as we began our visit to Littlecote Historic House. This was a fascinating self guided tour of the old Elizabethan part of the house with haunted rooms and hidden insects within paintings which took an age for us to find! We all enjoyed a reviving cup of tea and cake afterwards in the Hotel Restaurant

Carriage Parking????

It was Cold but Sunny!
Another lovely outing for Thatcham WI to Welford Park to see the amazing display of Snowdrops. It was a beautiful walk around the grounds topped off with Tea or Coffee and Cake (or jacket potato!)
How lovely that Deborah Puxley sweetly took time out of her busy day to join us in a photo shoot!
Deborah not only owns Welford Park but also bakes all the cakes and oversees the catering there. A very busy lady!

Some of us even mixed with Bake Off Royalty!!

Twenty of us enjoyed a trip to Bath Christmas Market. We all had a good time and found a few Christmas presents - and plenty of free samples of food and drink!!!

We had a lovely lunch at The Swan in Compton in November. Over 20 of us signed up and we enjoyed a 2 or 3 course meal which was beautifully served up and very tasty. Chris organised a quick quiz and a 'chocolate' raffle!!

In October we were lucky to be able to visit our local Veolia Recycling Centre. We were split into 2 groups and had an amazing time realising just how important it is to get our recycling in the correct boxes for kerb side collection

We also had a visit to a local Vets practice in October

The Repair Shop Filming Location. Pauline was most upset not to bump into Will!!!

In September we had an amazing day visit to the Weald and Downland Museum in Sussex where Tea and Cake had to be eaten!
