JANUARY 2026 - A NIGHT AT THE RACES

Sue arranged a wonderful evening of fun to kick start 2026. Each team had to dress a member of the committee as a jockey complete with 'horse' and after parading around they raced up the track. Our winning best dressed jockey was Chris and the winner of the race was Jaki.

For our DECEMBER 2025 PARTY we had the wonderful Claire Goodall come to celebrate a Medieval Christmas with us. She played some Carols surprising us with the origins of these and then led us in a dance around the hall - see the video below! We enjoyed some wonderful cakes from Daisy's, a local Cafe which ere washed down with Pimms or Juice.
OCTOBER is our Birthday month - it was also one of our ladies 90th Birthday, so we asked her to cut our WI Birthday cake to celebrate. We also enjoyed a bit of Line Dancing!

September 2025 - The Miracle Flower - from Flanders to the Tower
Lt Col (Ret'd) Jeremy Prescott told us all about the significance of the Poppy as a remembrance token
August 2025 - Repair, Renew and Re-use
We welcomed the local Repair Shop to come along and tell us all about their work in the local community
JULY 2025

The Rhyme of our Lives Poetry to make you laugh and cry by Jean Hill
We enjoyed a wonderful hour listening to the poetry written by Jean Hill describing different aspects of her life in a humourous way
JUNE 2025

We had a wonderful evening playing games and eating a delicious cream tea.
Our first game was to find the Film Title from a cryptic clue - the winners got 19 out of 20 correct.
Our second game was Human Bingo which meant all our members had to approach others to find out who the Bingo Clue related to. A great way of mixing and getting to know other members.

MAY 2025

What an amazing display of MAY BONNETS from our wonderfully creative members. Each table was given 2 bonnets to decorate and a large selection of materials, ribbons, flowers etc along with glue, Sellotape and scissors and 45 minutes in which to decorate their bonnets. As you can see from the video, it was an amazing success with some beautiful bonnets being created. The final 2 winners were judged by our outgoing Secretary, Elaine (who will be greatly missed by us all as she moves away from Thatcham next month).

FEBRUARY 2025
We had a fascinating talk on Estee Lauder Celebration Compacts. As you can see from the photos they are all intrically decorated and in the UK they are only available from Harrods - or since lockdown online.
They either contain powder or perfume and are highly sought after as collector pieces.
