The walking Group meets once a month - the days and times are advertised in the latest newsletter

A lovely walk in March in Kingsclere from the Fieldgate Centre to the Gallops where we were lucky enough to see the race horses exercising.

It's the 250th Anniversary of Jane Austen's Birth this year and to celebrate The Walking Group took a self-guided walk around Overton, just 3 miles from the hamlet of Steventon where Jane and her family lived for the first 25 years of her life.  It was a lovely morning and we met several other people doing the walking trail and exchanged notes with them!

Jane's brother James, who was curate at Overton, lived in the Vicarage (above and in 1790 probably just the left hand flint building) and then Court House as the vicarage "was too small for a growing family"

A list of the Overton traders in 1790 which you can see in St Mary's Church in Overton

Some houses in Overton which would have been there in Jane Austen's time

We had a very windy walk on Friday 24th January around Greenham Common.
